Kharad — camel wool on a pit loom.
Kharad rugs are woven from camel and sheep wool on a loom set into a pit in the ground, and the pattern is built in bands as the weaver works upward. A handful of families in Kutch still do it.
We drew this in Bhuj, in the idiom of the craft. It is our drawing — not a reproduction of any weaver's rug.
