Namda — felted, not woven.
Namda has no loom and no thread. Raw wool is beaten with soap and hot water until the fibres lock together into felt, then coloured shapes are laid on top and felted straight in. The blooms are built, not stitched.
We drew this in Bhuj, in the idiom of the craft. It is our drawing — not a reproduction of any artisan's work, and not felted wool.
